Mini-Nats XXV is Just Around the Corner

MN Logo
Mini-Nats XXV is now just a couple of weeks away.  If you haven’t signed up yet you’d better get to it.  There should still be rooms available at the suggested hotels as we have blocked most of them for this event.  We are planning to have security at the hotel for those of you that will bring your cars back to the hotel in the evenings.

We have three full days of fun planned with activities for your kids as well as for you and your friends.

Thunderhill Raceway is getting new pavement right now as you are reading this newsletter.  There will be about a dozen different groups on the track before we get there which should season the pavement perfectly for our weekend.

All the details about the Mini-Nats can be found on our web site.  You can go to the home page at www.norcal-saac.org and click on the Mini-Nats link or go directly to the page at www.norcal-saac.org/mn/mnmain.htm.  Some of the highlights for the weekend are listed below:

  • Friday morning track time (test session)
  • Police escort from the track into town for the car show and back to the track for all cars including non-street-legal racecars.  The road is very well traveled and should be just fine for all the cars.  We are making special ramps for the very low racecars to get into the park for the car show.
  • Popular vote car show at Sycamore Park in Willows including a BBQ dinner put on by the Willows Fire Department.  Snacks and drinks will be available during the afternoon from local Willows organizations.  Bounce house for the kids, great music, and more.
  • Hospitality room at the Travel Lodge in Willows (formerly the Golden Pheasant) each evening with snacks, drinks, videos, and plenty of time for all those stories to be embellished.
  • Lots of Open Track time on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Bounce house for kids, Indy car Simulator for adults.
  • Parade laps on the track (for non-track cars as well) at lunchtime on Saturday and Sunday and your family and friends can ride with you.
  • A special LADIES ONLY driving session on Sunday.
  • We’ll have a great Vintage Exhibition on Saturday.
  • Our Guest Speaker for our Saturday evening Banquet will be our own, very distinguished, National Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) founder and leader, Rick Kopec.  This will be a talk you don’t want to miss.
  • The banquet will also include a raffle with some exceptional items, some special presentations for our 25th Anniversary of Mini-Nats, and, of course, the Big Wheel Award.

We need volunteers to help with the Car Show on Friday.  We need help with organizing the cars for the escort, both ways, as well as help with parking the cars in Sycamore Park.  Please contact Carol Davis regarding this.  Carol’s email is cencuicui@hotmail.com and her cell phone is (510) 566-1464.

Please contact me if you have any other questions.  Looking forward to seeing you at the Mini-Nats!!!!
